Long COVID's Devastating Impact February 6 to March 4th, 2024-An estimated 34,746,936 people in the U.S. are suffering from Long COVID

Long COVID is continuing to wreak havoc insidiously on all levels of society. COVID is the insidious beast. It is impacting tens of millions of people. An estimated 34,746,936 people in the U.S. are suffering from Long COVID symptoms. That's 29% of adults. The most impacted are 25 to 54 years old. These are working-age adults who are often parents of school-age children.
Long COVID Prevalence by U.S. State
18 U.S. states have over 30% prevalence of people with Long Covid symptoms lasting more than 3 months as of March 4, 2024. 7 states are over 35% prevalence.
These states are suffering from a massive drain in cognitive ability, increasing healthcare costs, and financial instability for the families of those suffering from these, often disabling, symptoms for more than 3 months.
Long COVID Prevalence by Metro Area
These numbers are catastrophic! Why are people overlooking them? This situation could have been avoided, and there's still a chance to prevent it from affecting millions more individuals. We must prioritize the initiative to provide Clean Air for Kids. This would significantly reduce the transmission into homes and the rest of the community.
Household Transmission from Asymptomatic Children
Asymptomatic infection in children can lead to Long COVID in kids.
Once again, we see that COVID silently spreads through children from schools to homes, causing long-term health problems in children even when they don't show any sign of symptoms and that the transmission often spreads to parents.
"Household Transmission Dynamics of Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2–Infected Children: A Multinational, Controlled Case-Ascertained Prospective Study” (March 26, 2024)
Conclusions: "Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2–infected children, especially those <5 years, are important contributors to household transmission, with 1 in 10 exposed household contacts developing symptomatic illness within 14 days. Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2–infected children may develop PCC."
